You never know when an accident or medical emergency will occur. If it does, the Emergency Department at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital is open 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year and is staffed by highly qualified physician.

Evaluation and treatment of emergency situations are provided by skilled Emergency Department nursing staff and physicians. Areas of expertise include:
- Initial stabilization of trauma patients
- Surgical emergencies
- Pediatric emergencies
- Obstetrical emergencies
- Cardiac emergencies
- Simple/complex lacerations
- Orthopedic emergencies
After receiving stabilizing treatments at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, patients with certain cardiac conditions, stroke, severe trauma, burns, pediatric illnesses, or are in need of a higher level of care, may be transferred.
