Diabetes is a lifelong condition that requires many, and often difficult, lifestyle changes. The Diabetes Education Staff at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital are here to help. Our program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and is State of Michigan certified. Our multi-disciplinary team of educators is experienced in diabetes management.
Our Diabetes Education Staff can provide you with tools you will need to self-manage your diabetes. We will assess your current needs and goals to develop an individual education/treatment plan that will help you to succeed. We offer a variety of learning opportunities from one-on-one education, to group classes, and support groups.
Proper treatment of diabetes can dramatically reduce complications and improve quality of life for those with this condition. To help you control and learn about your diabetes, we provide outpatient services for adults with Type I, Type II and Gestational diabetes. Type I, Type II, and gestational diabetes patients receive individualized self-management education training coordinated by a multi-disciplinary team that includes Certified Diabetes Educators, Registered Dietitians, and Registered Nurses.
